Today is the third day of SouthField's 40 Days to Pray. You can click here for a prayer guide.
Today I am praying the third request, for unity.
For this topic, we chose verses from Ephesians 4--
Ephesians 4:1-3
Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. 3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.
Our Father,
We have so many opinions, and we like to express them and assert them.
You made us to think and to decide, so having an opinion is not a bad thing.
Sometimes we value our opinions more than we do another person or even You.
That's when we get off track.
The decisions we have ahead will involve choices, and choices sometimes lead to disagreements.
Help us to live this verse: Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other...
We beg you to help us to keep our eyes on the big picture, on what really matters.
Help us Jesus, to live up to our calling,
Amen.
